Digital Media Arts

Final

During the class of Photography, the learning objectives are to develop and create a portfolio of 10 images with a common theme that could be submitted to a contest, magazine or gallery/show. This project should have an artist statement and have a specific goal. For example to enter into a contest, or give light to a certain subject matter. This is valuable to my future because I will be able to take pictures better and a lot clearer.

The project was to figure out what kind of theme we want to focus on for our pictures. Then we had to take pictures and chose 10 that match our theme more. This required me to choose a theme that I wanted to go with and figure out where and how I was going to take my pictures.

The Process I went through to do this project and meet the learning objectives first started with choosing my theme. I went for a magazine cover theme. Basically I had to take pictures that had a clean background but I wanted to do it in a creative way. I looked up some inspiration but they all had some white backgrounds or just one color background and were all pretty lame if I'm one hundred percent honest. While I was taking pictures I would try different angles, different zoom, and using different resources around me. It was a little complicated at first to find places at home to take these pictures but I walked around my neighborhood with my friend. Throughout this process listed above  I have realized I have learned that angels can do such a difference for a picture. For example I had taken some pictures from one angle and then another angle in the same place and ended up liking the second angle better. This tells me that angles can make a picture so much better.
The Two School Wide Learning Outcomes I demonstrated with this Artifact are mastering skills needed in career and college. I can use my photography skills for my own use like with my family and I can even make money doing it. I also applied technological skills for the 21st century. I learned how to use photoshop and it helped me improve a picture so much. I could have improved by being an individual learner but I got help from my teacher and my model.
Overall the most important things I have learned in this class this year are how to use lighting, angles, and photoshop. These skills I have learned in this class will help me in the future by being able to edit my own pictures and take them myself.

Semester 1 Photos

Rol Semester 1

During the class of Photography, the learning objectives are to be able to take professional pictures, be a great model, and be able to do our class projects. This is valuable to my future because it’s a talent that I am learning and can use it so when I buy my own camera.

This class project was a light project. What this required me to do was work as teams with different people from my class. We would usually work with three people, one would be the photographer, the other would be the model, and finally the last one would be the light person. The Process I went through to do this project and meet the learning objectives first started with finding a model for your pictures. After we found the model we had to look for the right lighting and see if we want soft light or hard light.  When we made our decision we would find the right background to place our model and use the reflectors of artificial light to shine on the model. If you didn’t want to use either of those light sources then you could use natural li9ght instead. After we take the picture we had to edit the picture with different kinds of exposure, contrast, and highlights.Throughout this process listed above I have realized that I have learned to use maunual mode with different kinds of lighting, see how exposed pictures can be, and finally know where to put your model. These link back to the course goals and project goals because we edit them to look like professinal pictures, and we work as teams to finish opur projects. This tells me the following about myself that I can be able to work as a team and finsih my projects. How I learned in this class was by paying attention and asking questions to my teacher Mr. Richards.

The Two School Wide Learning Outcomes I demonstrated with this project are applying technological skills for the 21st century and thinking critically and creatively.I have demonstrated School wide learning outcome in the artifact by demonstrating applying technological skills for the 21st century. This is important because I will know my own camera skills later in the future if i buy a camera, or want to take some family pictures and same some money. The Second SLO I demonstrated was thinking critically and creatively.by editing my pictures currectly and putiting the right amount of lighting and good backghrounds. This is important because WHn taking my picture in the futuyre I will be able to know how to edit them and crop them correctly.

Overall the most important things I have learned in this class this year a how to use manual mode correctly, what buttons are used for what, and how to use the right amount of lighting.
