The design challenge of the Flashlight Project was to make a flashlight that will work. The requirements for the flashlight were to Generate two candidate flashlight case designs, Provide sketches including views that show relevant features, location of holes for LED and switch, battery replacement access. Some of the things that I learned about in lecture or demonstration were how to make a hollow cylinder in solid works. My personal assessment of my effort on the project is soldering the wires together. The evidence and specific steps I took to meet these goals were to make my flashlight the right size and for the button and then the actual wires work. From doing this project I learned and got better at wiring and at using solidworks. Things I struggled with were in solid works getting the measurements right for the button and the battery. I had to make the following design modifications i would have checked my cap measurements a little better the first time i printed the cap. My flashlight was a success.
Traffic Signal Light Rol
This class I am taking is Metronics. What I have learned in this class is how to connect pi, make a Flashlight, and also learn how to add bits. This is valuable for my future in case I want to be an engineer. I can be one. This project was for us to work as partners and make a traffic light and also include the countdown of when pedestrians cross. What I learned was how to connect wires on the positive and negative side. The design challenge of the traffic signal light was to add a countdown display to the signal light simulation. What the light had to do was for the red light to stop and the yellow light had to turn off before the red light turned on. The other green light has to turn on as the red light turns off. We are supposed to build and design a raspberry PI that we were given based on a traffic light controller project which is widely used to monitor that controls the automobiles through the bond of many roads. It will be a simple plan of a traffic light system; it will still be very realistic though. As we work in partners we have our Pi and our bread board and insert the wires and insert the light bulbs. In this project the design challenge is to build and design a raspberry PI that we were given based on a traffic light controller project which is widely used to monitor that controls the automobiles through the bond of many roads. It will be a simple plan of a traffic light system; it will still be very realistic though. The requirements of the signal light were Raspberry Pi, colored LEDs, resistors, and an electronic breadboard and connectors build a realistic traffic control simulator. Another requirement was that the light signal has to be timed for a certain amount of time and it has to have all three colors (green, yellow, red) and it must repeat. It had to work like a realistic traffic light and it finally had to work for pedestrians too. Some things I learned in my teachers' lectures was how to count in binary. Something I learned about electronics was the operators and how the signs work, the left shirt, the right shirt, and the bitwise. Something I learned about in the Pi program was that it can be extended to a more realistic system with programmable timings and pedestrian lighting. The process I went through to succeed was to ask Mr.Roach for help even when he didn’t want to help and if he was really mad I would ask my classmates and try to figure it out. I tried hard on this assessment with my partner but we had a hard time. The two SLO’s I have demonstrated in this project is Applying technological skills for the 21st century because I was using technology and wires to make a stoplight and people do that now in the street. Me and my partner also thought critically and creatively we tried our best to connect the wires but we also tried doing it differently. The SLO i could’ve demonstrated was to represent my school, myself, and others. I wasn’t able to demonstrate it because me and my partner didn’t get to finish our project. In conclusion I learned how to wire up in the breadboard and learned the bit numbers. This will help me in the future incase I want to be a engineer. This class has been a bumpy road for me and will have more to come.
